ESXi 용 Xpenology 사용을 포기하고 바로 Synology 정품을 구매했다.
4Bay용 DS416Play를 구매했고, Xpenology용 NAS는 Backup용도로 사용 중이다.
DS416Play와 DS416는 단 한나의 차이가 있는데, 바로 CPU다
DS416Play는 Intel Celeron N3060을,
DS416은 Annapurna Labs Alpine AL-212 Dual-Core 1.4 GHz 프로세서를 사용한다.
DS416 구매했다가 취소하고 DS416Play로 구매후, 램을 8GB로 업글해서 사용 중이다.

정품 Synology의 경우 개인적인 용도로 사용했을때 최고의 장점은 QuickConnect를 사용할수 있다는 점이었다. (Xpenology의 경우 QuickConnect를 사용할 수 없다.)
QuickConnect는 아시는 바와 같이, 외부에서도 쉽게 나의 NAS를 접속할수 있게 해 주는 서비스다, 또한 특별한 Router 설정 없이도 나의 Synology에 인스톨 된 서비스로 접속을 할수 있게 해 준다. 그로 인해 나의 NAS가 Cloud 서버와 같은 역활을 하게끔 해 주기 때문에 Synology의 활용성이 더욱 높아졌다.
돈 들인만큼 만족하느냐로 물어본다면, Yes라고 답해주고 싶다.
400불 넘는 돈을 지불했지만, 그만큼 안정성, 신뢰성, 그리고 활용성을 경험하고 있다고 말해주고 싶다.
누군가가 이런 말을 한적이 있다.
“Xpenology를 사용하면 할수록, 그 사용자는 정품 Synology를 사게 된다” 라는 말.
진짜 내가 딱 그 사용자라고 생각한다.. ㅋ
